Eyebrows How to Shape Them to Compliment Your Features

The eyebrows are what "frame" your face. But, just like a bad picture frame can ruin a beautiful painting's beauty, eyebrows can also detract. How do you choose the right shape for your eyebrows? Do they need to have a pointed arch that is almost straight? Should they be softly rounded or should they have a pointed arch? Do they need a high arch or a very low arch?

First, determine your natural face shape before you start designing a brow. You can determine whether your face is rounder, squarer, oval, heart-shaped or inverted pyramid by pulling your hair back. Respected makeup artists say there are seven basic shapes and that most people will fall within one of them. It is important to not repeat a negative. If you have a round face, you wouldn't want brows that are too rounded. An arch that is more angular and higher will make your face look less round. A rounded brow can soften square-shaped features that are quite harsh. Again, never repeat a negative.

Are you a person with a large forehead? Have you tried to hide it by using bangs? Avoid defining your eyebrows with a pointed or high arch. This will only accentuate the highness of your forehead. The forehead will appear larger and more "lower" if it has a lower arch or very little. If you have a slight arch, ensure it is towards the outer third. This will make your forehead appear wider and more balanced.

What if you have a particular feature you wish to emphasize, like high cheekbones? High cheekbones will be highlighted by a broader brow. High cheekbones can be accentuated by placing the arch at the outer third. Keep the tail of your brow from being too low. This is a common error in shaping eyebrows. It will draw attention away from high cheekbones that you want to emphasize.

What thickness should your eyebrows be? Remember to consider your overall features. Consider, for example, if you have large lips, thicker, more dramatic eyebrows might be in order. For large features to look balanced, thicker eyebrows are required. A small, petite face with small lips and a small nose will require thinner eyebrows.

You may have decided on a shape and whether your brows should be thick or thin. What should your eyebrow look like? According to accepted makeup principles, you should use a ruler or any other straight object, such as a pencil. Place it on the outside of the nose, right up to the inner cored of the eye. Then, start your brows at the point that this line starts above your nose. You may appear to be frowning if your brows are too close together. This is the best place to start your brows in most cases. If you have a very wide bridge, your brows may need to be brought in slightly closer when corrective makeup is required. Remember to consider your overall features size. If you have a large nose or mouth, it can cause your whole face to look out of balance.

Where should the Perfect Eyebrow end? Place a ruler at the end of your nose, just below the corner of your eye. This will indicate where the line should be drawn. Don't "hook" your brows and draw them too low. This will make you look older and close in your eyes. It will save you years of work by keeping your brows high.

What if your hair is too long or you have a lot of hair? A makeup artist can shape your eyebrows and wax them for you. You can achieve any shape you desire with topically applied makeup. Permanent makeup can make it easier to mimic this look every day using traditional cosmetic makeup. Permanently getting the perfect shape tattooed could be your solution. To get your approval, make sure you choose an artist who is experienced and draw the eyebrows first.

How can you choose the perfect color for your eyebrows? Consider your skin tone and hair color. If traditional makeup is used, it is accepted that a color similar to your brow hair or 2 to 3 shades lighter will look the best. When choosing the color of permanent makeup, the artist should consider the client's skin tone. The final result will depend on your natural skin color and the color of the pigment. This can be difficult so make sure to consult an artist who has a strong portfolio and references from past clients.

These tips will help you create beautiful eyebrows that complement and frame your face. Do not be afraid to ask a professional for help if you are still unsure about how to change your eyebrows.
